Huawei Mate 10 Pro and 10 Porsche Design are members of the Mate 10 series. Both devices with the real flagship Mate 10 was announced during Huawei’s last event in Munich. These three smartphones are similar especially when you observe a comparison between Huawei Mate 10 Pro and Porsche Design. The real flagship Huawei Mate 10 is outstanding, so I published a separate specs review for it.

RELEASE DATE & PRICE
There's no specific release date and price yet. But from the information we've gathered so far, Huawei Mate 10 Pro and Porsche Design are expected to be released in November.

SPECIFICATIONS OF HUAWEI MATE 10 PRO & PORSCHE DESIGN

DISPLAY AND DESIGN
Something’s changed about Huawei Smartphones design, say goodbye to all-metal body build. All Huawei Mate 10 series are built with an all-glass construction giving them more classic look. Thanks to Huawei for introducing better display tech into its flagship Mate 10 series.

The Mate 10 Pro and 10 Porsche Design smartphones are built with 6-inch (~80.9% screen-to-body ratio) AMOLED display having 18:9 aspect ratios. Their resolutions are 2160 x 1080 (density of 402ppi) alongside 154.2 x 74.5 x 7.9 mm (6.07 x 2.93 x 0.31 in) dimensions, much bigger than the Mate 10.

One of the uniqueness of these two mates 10 series (Huawei Mate 10 Pro & 10 Porsche Design) is the presence of IP67 certification, which means both devices are dust and water resistant (water resistant up to 1 meter and 30 minutes). This is one of the features you can't find in Huawei Mate 10 except this Pro and Porsche Design versions.

Sad as it may seem, Huawei Mate 10 Pro & Porsche Design forgo 3.5mm Headphone Jack for USB-C headphone adapter incl., leaving only Huawei Mate 10 to feature the headphone jack

OS & PROCESSOR
Just like the Mate 10, its Pro and PD versions were made to run on the latest Android 8.0 Oreo as well as the all-new EMUI 8.

Huawei’s new Neural Processing Unit (NPU), the Kirin 970 chipset, is also included in the Mate 10 Pro and Porsche Design as well as an Octa-core (4x2.4 GHz Cortex-A73 & 4x1.8 GHz Cortex-A53) CPU and Mali-G72 MP12 GPU.

Kirin 970 Chipset working with Artificial Intelligence (AI) is really a nice feature. There's a lot you can do with this AI.

CAMERA
All Mate 10 devices come with the same camera quality, 20MP+12MP dual-camera on the back with Leica configuration, both rear cameras feature f/1.6 aperture, 2x loseless zoom, Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) to enable you to capture high-quality images. The cameras are capable of shooting video at 2160p@30fps and 1080p@30/60fps.

The Artificial Intelligence does more task on the camera aspect, I recommend you read up features of Huawei Mate 10, all you need to know about AI has been discussed in the post.

At the front of both devices, is an 8 MP secondary camera featuring f/2.0 aperture. Selfie lovers should love this. With it, you can perform high-quality video call as well as shoot high-quality photos.

MEMORY
The Mate 10 Pro and Mate 10 Porsche Design have much bigger RAM size than that of the Mate 10. Both devices are being maintained by a whopping 6GB RAM. With such RAM running on these devices, you should be able to save up to hundreds of thousands of files on the device's internal storage carrying a space of 256GB. Both smartphones do not support MicroSD card as Huawei thinks the internal storage is just sufficient for use.

The much-awaited Huawei Mate 10 has become official, most of its rumoured specs turned out to be true. Get to know this, during the event, not only the Huawei Mate 10 was announced but also the Mate 10 Pro being its twin smartphone, and Mate 10 Porsche Edition. Both smartphones are similar in specs, thus there must be something unique about one to the other.

Probably Huawei should be the last smartphone company to release its flagship device following the 2017 trend. I must say that Huawei Mate 10, 10 Pro and 10 Porsche Design are some of the bigger flagship smartphones released in 2017.

Without wasting much time, let's start unveiling everything you need to know about the latest flagship Huawei Mate 10.

RELEASE DATE & PRICE
There isn't any specified release date and price yet, but we've been able to gather some information regarding Huawei Mate 10 release date and price.
According to Android Authority, “The Mate 10 will be released starting in late October in Australia, China, Egypt, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Philippines, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Spain, and UAE”.
While TechRadar stated also that there isn't an exact release date for each region, further stating that it already has the Huawei Mate 10 release date for Australia to be November 15.

FULL SPECS OF HUAWEI MATE 10

DISPLAY AND DESIGN
The Mate 10 is totally different from its other predecessors in terms of design and display.

The Huawei Mate 10 following the ongoing new designs and display of 2017 smartphones, weighing 186g with dimensions of 150.5 x 77.8 x 8.2mm alongside a 5.9-inch (pixel density of 499 pixels per inch) LCD screen display with 16:9 aspect ratios having its resolution to be 1440 x 2560 offering one of the most stunning display experience ever noticed on a Huawei smartphone.

Huawei has dumped the use of all-metal body build having the Mate 10 and 10 Pro designed with an all-glass construction.
As for the Mate 10, its fingerprint scanner is placed beneath the display’s bezel, while the Mate 10 Pro has its fingerprint scanner centred on the rear camera.

Huawei Mate 10 does not feature the IP67 certification to make it water and dust resistant instead, Huawei built the feature on the Mate 10 Pro. But it's good to know that the 3.5mm Headphone Jack didn't go off the Huawei Mate 10, unlike the Mate 10 Pro.

OS & PROCESSOR
I was actually convinced with what OS the Huawei Mate 10 series will be running when I first got my eyes on its rumoured specifications, with the teaser video I saw earlier during the campaign made me believe the smartphone will be running on Android 8.0 Oreo OS, this will enable users to enjoy the benefits of Android Oreo. And because it operates on Android 8.0, Huawei is saying goodbye to EMUI 5.1 bringing in the new EMUI 8 that will work more effectively with the new Android OS.

Know this that during the launch event, was also announced Huawei's new Kirin 970 Neural Processing Unit (NPU) and is first rolled out to the Huawei Mate 10. This processor is the first to be designed with Artificial Intelligence (AI), and in conjunction with its Custom NPU, Huawei says the Kirin 970 processor will make use of the AI to the world around you. There's a lot you can do with the Artificial Intelligence which is discussed before the end of this post.
Working with the processor is an Octa-core (4x2.4 GHz Cortex-A73 & 4x1.8 GHz Cortex-A53) CPU and Mali-G72 MP12 GPU

MEMORY
Huawei promised to solve the issue of memory degradation experienced by many Android devices and has built in the Huawei Mate 10 a 4GB RAM to make it more effective with its 64GB internal storage. Also in the Huawei Mate 10 is included a MicroSD slot capable of housing up to 256GB of expandable space.

CAMERA
The device comes with the next-generation dual-lens camera.
At the back of Huawei Mate 10 are a 20MP and 12MP dual camera Leica optics configuration for better capturing of images. Both cameras feature f/1.6 aperture (Huawei Mate 10 is the first smartphone to have dual rear cameras featuring the same aperture. This should help take pictures in low light conditions, and with the phone having Optical Image Stabilization (OIS)

At the top front of the smartphone is an 8MP secondary camera with f/2.0 aperture suitable for video calling and shooting adorable selfies.

BATTERY & COLOUR
With all these specifications packed in Huawei Mate 10, it is powered by a non-removable Li-Po 4000mAh battery.

You can get Huawei Mate 10 in four variant colours which include; Mocha Brown, Black, Champagne Gold and Pink Gold.

ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE ON THE GO!
The Neural Processing Unit (NPU) is designed to offer better performance and great energy efficiency.
How does this affect real-life usage?
Huawei has included smart tips that get familiar with user behaviour and proffer solutions on improving the user's experience. For example, when reading in a low light or dark environment, it will recommend that you turn on Eye Comfort mode.

There's also the presence of an AI-driven translator. Thanks to Huawei for partnering with Microsoft to develop Bing Translator on top of the Kirin API.

On the camera part, working with the AI allow the phone to recognize pets, landscapes, food and also respond to them by switching to the appropriate shooting mode.
This will enable even the most unskilled photographer shoot stunning photos.

Above is everything you need to know about Huawei Mate 10. Watch out for Mate 10 Pro and 10 Porsche Design specs review.

Official: Huawei Mate 10 to have its launch on October 16, its rumoured specs has leaked online

Official: Huawei Mate 10 to have its launch on October 16, its rumoured specs has leaked online

A teaser video clip was published by the company teasing the launch event for the much anticipating Huawei Mate 10, yes the Mate 9 successor.

Huawei Mate 10 is certain to have its launch event in Munich on October 16

Currently, there's a lot being said of Huawei’s upcoming flagship Mate 10 and that has brought up its rumoured specifications as usual.

RUMOURED SPECS AND PRICE OF HUAWEI MATE 10

OS & Processor
Most uniquely, Huawei Mate 10 is expected to run on the latest Android 8.0 Oreo OS as both icons of Huawei company and Android Oreo were seen so close to each other in a square image. See image below.

The smartphone is expected to debut the much-anticipated Kirin 970 chipset including the new Emotion UI 6.

Display and Design
Huawei Mate 10 is expected to feature a 6-inch, 2:1 QHD screen display with 2160 x 1080 resolution and dimension 150.2 x 77.5 x 8.4mm. Also should be tiny bezels to either side of the screen.

We've also seen images showing the presence of fingerprint scanner below the screen on the front, a glass back as well as a dual-lens rear camera.

Huawei mate 10 to have Facial Recognition
In a video published on Huawei's official Facebook page, teasing Apple saying “facial recognition isn't for everyone". The Mate 10 is expected to feature facial recognition just like iPhone X, bringing more security and privacy to your phone.

The design of Huawei Mate 10 is going look great and stunning. Huawei has chosen to be part of other smartphone companies giving water resistant feature to their smartphones.
Just like the iPhone X, iPhone 8 and 8 Plus, Galaxy Note 8, Google Pixel 2 and 2 XL, Huawei Mate 10 should be featuring a design compatible with water resistance. That is, you should be able to make use of your phone even when it is raining or can even dunk your phone in water.

Camera
Huawei Mate 10 is rumoured to feature a dual-lens rear camera. At the back of the phone is seen a pairing 23MP and 20MP dual-lens rear camera.

If this turns out to be true, I believe it will give the smartphone an outstanding camera quality.

Battery
With all these specs packed in Huawei Mate 10, it is rumoured to have it powered by a 4,000mAh battery.

Price
I don't expect Huawei Mate 10 to be high in price.
It is rumoured to sell for around $599.99 (£579, AU$999).

Note: There's also a rumour speculating that Huawei Mate 10 will be launched alongside a twin phone to be called the Mate 10 Pro, and it should be having similar specs as Huawei Mate 10.

So that will be all for now. The launch event is justl a few hours away, let's wait for that special time when the smartphone will become official with the real specs. Hopefully, the rumoured specs might turn out to be true.
