Get to know this, during the event, not only the Huawei Mate 10 was announced but also the Mate 10 Pro being its twin smartphone, and Mate 10 Porsche Edition. Both smartphones are similar in specs, thus there must be something unique about one to the other.

Probably Huawei should be the last smartphone company to release its flagship device following the 2017 trend. I must say that Huawei Mate 10, 10 Pro and 10 Porsche Design are some of the bigger flagship smartphones released in 2017.

Without wasting much time, let's start unveiling everything you need to know about the latest flagship Huawei Mate 10.

FULL SPECS OF HUAWEI MATE 10

DISPLAY AND DESIGN
The Mate 10 is totally different from its other predecessors in terms of design and display.

The Huawei Mate 10 following the ongoing new designs and display of 2017 smartphones, weighing 186g with dimensions of 150.5 x 77.8 x 8.2mm alongside a 5.9-inch (pixel density of 499 pixels per inch) LCD screen display with 16:9 aspect ratios having its resolution to be 1440 x 2560 offering one of the most stunning display experience ever noticed on a Huawei smartphone.

Huawei has dumped the use of all-metal body build having the Mate 10 and 10 Pro designed with an all-glass construction.
As for the Mate 10, its fingerprint scanner is placed beneath the display’s bezel, while the Mate 10 Pro has its fingerprint scanner centred on the rear camera.

Huawei Mate 10 does not feature the IP67 certification to make it water and dust resistant instead, Huawei built the feature on the Mate 10 Pro. But it's good to know that the 3.5mm Headphone Jack didn't go off the Huawei Mate 10, unlike the Mate 10 Pro.

OS & PROCESSOR
I was actually convinced with what OS the Huawei Mate 10 series will be running when I first got my eyes on its rumoured specifications, with the teaser video I saw earlier during the campaign made me believe the smartphone will be running on Android 8.0 Oreo OS, this will enable users to enjoy the benefits of Android Oreo. And because it operates on Android 8.0, Huawei is saying goodbye to EMUI 5.1 bringing in the new EMUI 8 that will work more effectively with the new Android OS.

Know this that during the launch event, was also announced Huawei's new Kirin 970 Neural Processing Unit (NPU) and is first rolled out to the Huawei Mate 10. This processor is the first to be designed with Artificial Intelligence (AI), and in conjunction with its Custom NPU, Huawei says the Kirin 970 processor will make use of the AI to the world around you. There's a lot you can do with the Artificial Intelligence which is discussed before the end of this post.
Working with the processor is an Octa-core (4x2.4 GHz Cortex-A73 & 4x1.8 GHz Cortex-A53) CPU and Mali-G72 MP12 GPU

MEMORY
Huawei promised to solve the issue of memory degradation experienced by many Android devices and has built in the Huawei Mate 10 a 4GB RAM to make it more effective with its 64GB internal storage. Also in the Huawei Mate 10 is included a MicroSD slot capable of housing up to 256GB of expandable space.

CAMERA
The device comes with the next-generation dual-lens camera.
At the back of Huawei Mate 10 are a 20MP and 12MP dual camera Leica optics configuration for better capturing of images. Both cameras feature f/1.6 aperture (Huawei Mate 10 is the first smartphone to have dual rear cameras featuring the same aperture. This should help take pictures in low light conditions, and with the phone having Optical Image Stabilization (OIS)

At the top front of the smartphone is an 8MP secondary camera with f/2.0 aperture suitable for video calling and shooting adorable selfies.

BATTERY & COLOUR
With all these specifications packed in Huawei Mate 10, it is powered by a non-removable Li-Po 4000mAh battery.

You can get Huawei Mate 10 in four variant colours which include; Mocha Brown, Black, Champagne Gold and Pink Gold.

ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE ON THE GO!
The Neural Processing Unit (NPU) is designed to offer better performance and great energy efficiency.
How does this affect real-life usage?
Huawei has included smart tips that get familiar with user behaviour and proffer solutions on improving the user's experience. For example, when reading in a low light or dark environment, it will recommend that you turn on Eye Comfort mode.

There's also the presence of an AI-driven translator. Thanks to Huawei for partnering with Microsoft to develop Bing Translator on top of the Kirin API.

On the camera part, working with the AI allow the phone to recognize pets, landscapes, food and also respond to them by switching to the appropriate shooting mode.
This will enable even the most unskilled photographer shoot stunning photos.

Above is everything you need to know about Huawei Mate 10. Watch out for Mate 10 Pro and 10 Porsche Design specs review.
