Microsoft finally released Edge browser for Android and iOS devices- Download now!

Microsoft finally released Edge browser for Android and iOS devices- Download now!

Microsoft just completed its mission-- The Edge browser has come to stay on Smartphones of today!!!

Having the Microsoft Edge browser on smartphone devices running on Android and iOS platforms is worth a stress release- with easy access and continuation to all your stuff previously paused the last time they were accessed via Mac/PC version of Edge browser.

Last month, Microsoft announced there will be an Edge browser mobile app version available for Android and iOS devices and further introduced the beta version which many of us have been using.
And today, we now have the Edge browser available on mobile markets- Google Play and iTunes.

The continue on PC we've been hearing to be one of the mobile browser’s features is real. Microsoft has integrated the “continue on PC” feature to work on the Edge mobile browser for Android and Apple iOS. This will enable you to ping a site over to your PC if the site's appearance on mobile view doesn't suit your taste. Good to know that with the new Edge mobile browser, you can resume a lot of your tasks from your phone to a PC, precisely Windows 10.

There are other amazing features added to the Edge for mobile. These include- ebooks, history, reading list, access to favourites. Unfortunately, Microsoft is yet to include the tab syncing to its mobile version of Edge browser, which means history or tabs can't be shared between PC and Phone.
Though the company is planning to introduce the tab syncing feature later in the future, probably we might have that next year.

However, like I mentioned earlier, the Edge mobile app is now available for everyone around the globe. For Android users, simply download and install Edge browser from Google Play. Apple users should get the app from Apple's store.

Whatsapp just rolled in live location sharing feature to its app. Read how it works

Whatsapp just rolled in live location sharing feature to its app. Read how it works

A few weeks ago, the news was online that whatsapp was planning to introduce live sharing feature to its platform. And now, the feature was just recently activated which I think will start rolling out to users when they update their whatsapp to the latest version. However, in this post is everything you need to know about the new live location sharing feature.

Live location sharing is the new useful tool that has been introduced to whatsapp which lets users share their exact location in real-time with friends and family, or even to groups they belong to. This is the advanced method of sharing your location compared to the previous location sharing tool.

How does it work?
The live location sharing feature is end-to-end encrypted when shared among friends and family members. The duration for this is limited, you can choose to share your real-time location with your friends within a given time, you will have options like 5 minutes, 10 minutes, 30 minutes, 1 hour or even something else.
Once the stipulated time is reached, your friend or members of your group chat will stop seeing your real-time location. Even before the time is reached, you can choose to terminate the sharing task.

In a group chat, multiple members can share their real-time locations almost at the same time, and you will still be able to view all their locations right in a single map

How to share live location in a chat
It's pretty simple…
• Open a chat with your friend or a group you belong to which you want them to know your real-time location.
• Just below your screen is the usual attach icon, click it and select Location, now here's the new feature option “share live location”. Select the option and choose the duration you want and tap send. It's done.

Final words
This is best for meeting up with new friends, and keeping loved ones so close while you know where they are at a particular point in time.
The feature will be available to users of both Android and iOS devices. We should be expecting new update notification of whatsapp because I'm sure the feature will roll out to a new version of whatsapp. Follow me on Facebook to keep informed of what's going on in the world of tech.

Microsoft Edge Browser Now Available On Android And iOS

Microsoft Edge Browser Now Available On Android And iOS

A few days back, news leaked out online that Microsoft is planning to make Microsoft Edge browser available to Android and iOS devices.

If you're not too familiar with the Microsoft Edge browser, it is the successor to Internet Explorer browser and it's included in the windows 10 set as its default browser.

The mobile version of the Microsoft Edge is currently available for those having the new Windows 10 Insider Preview build. Having the Edge web browser on mobile devices running on iOS and Android will build better approach and more user-friendly with the windows 10.

Having the newly designed mobile version of Edge web browser on your Android/iOS devices lets you enrol the continue on PC feature, which means you can resume your activity on your phone from where you left it on your computer as it allows for synchronization between your computer and the smartphone.

Apart from your search habit, your bookmarks, passwords, history, and other fill in details will also get synchronized so you can access them easily especially when they're needed.

What's new on Edge mobile web browser???
The search engine: As usual the default search engine dedicated to the Edge browser is the Bing search engine. Now on the mobile version, is not only limited to Bing, also to Google’s search engine and Yahoo search engine, you can make your choice of which search engine is desired to be your default type.
Too bad the Edge mobile web browser does not support ad blocking. Perhaps it should in its next version.

The design: Microsoft Edge mobile browser has pretty much the same design as the Chrome and Safari browsers. These browsers are familiar in surfaces and having features like QR-code reader, Reading View, voice search, Hub View and more.

For now, Microsoft is only aiming at smartphones running on Android and iOS platforms, tablets are yet to gain support but I'm certain that as time goes by, tablets users will benefit too.

For Windows Insider users, all you have to do is visit this page and confirm it is an insider, which will prompt Microsoft to send you a message containing the instructions to install its first Edge Beta for your smartphone running on Android or iOS platform.

Currently, the official app has not yet been introduced, we should be expecting it before the year-end. Though the preview app was recently introduced to Google Play Store for Android users.
Click here to download the preview app for the meantime.

So that should be all, for now, regards Microsoft Edge mobile browsers. We'll keep you updated as soon as something comes up. Thanks for visiting Oshetech, please do come back for more tech info.
