Samsung Galaxy A8 (2018) and Galaxy A8+ (2018) specifications- 16MP+8MP Dual Front Camera, Infinity Display

Samsung launched another flagship smartphone- the Galaxy A8 and A8+, with amazing specifications which will be revealed to you in a short while as you read this post.


Samsung has hit it again! This time, an event give in China where Samsung officially launched it's Galaxy A8 and A8+ flagship smartphones. Hopefully, these two smartphones will be the first to be released in 2018. Samsung says it will start selling both models in early January 2018, though for now there has not announced official pricing.



Samsung Galaxy A8 (2018) and Galaxy A8+ (2018) were made to run on Android 7.1.1 Nougat Operating System. Among them is an Exynos 7885 Octa Chipset, with Octa-core chip having two cores measured at 2.2GHz and six cores measured at 1.6GHz.

Both models will indeed be more user-friendly. The Galaxy A8 (2018) is maintained by a 4GB RAM whereas the Galaxy A8+ (2018) comes in two options- 4GB or 6GB RAM.



The design of these models looks great. Following the modern smartphone design and display technology, the 149.2 x 70.6 x 8.4 mm (5.87 x 2.78 x 0.33 in) Samsung Galaxy A8 (2018) weighing 172g is built to have a 5.6-inch full-HD+ Super AMOLED display with 18.5:9 aspect ratio and 1080 × 2220 pixels resolution.
The Galaxy A8+ (2018) features a 6-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display. The brand has
159.9 x 75.7 x 8.3 mm (6.30 x 2.98 x 0.33 in) dimensions, weighing 191g.

Both models have a large Infinity Display following the modern design of Samsung’s flagship devices, as well as an ‘Always-on Display’ to make you receive information at a glance without unlocking your phone. With Samsung Pay integrated on the Galaxy A8 (2018) and Galaxy A8+ (2018), you can easily pay bills with just a single swipe and fingerprint scan.

Like every other smartphone released in 2017, the Galaxy A8 (2018) and A+ (2018) are IP68 certified, which means they will be dust and water resistant over 1.5 meter and 30 minutes.

Samsung embedded high-quality cameras on the Galaxy A8 (2018) models, making them eligible in competition with previously released smartphones following the modern day technology.

Capture your exciting moments with a qualitative 16 MP F1.7 rear camera, and the Samsung’s first 16MP+8MP F1.9 Dual Front Camera for shooting high-quality selfies. These cameras work perfectly well irrespective of where you are or what you are doing.



The Dual Front Camera is made up of two separate cameras so you can make use of any of the two to take your desired selfie style. The camera sensors gives users the option to either have a blurred background to form a bokeh effect or have a clean, sharp and focused background to produce sharp pictures even in low light conditions.

The camera features an advanced Live Focus, to enable you to adjust the bokeh effect before or even after capturing the self-portraits to make a high-quality image. There's also an option where you can customize your picture with fun stickers or even highlighting a culinary extravaganza with Food Mode.

Say goodbye to Shaky video footage. With Video Digital image stabilization (VDis) technology plus an added hyper-lapse feature, time-lapse videos can be created to let you record and share even longer stories.

The Samsung Galaxy A8 (2018) and Galaxy A8+ (2018) comes out of the box with a 32GB and 64GB onboard storage options, and there's also a slot for an expandable microSD card housing up to 256GB.

The smartphones feature lots of amazing connectivities which include Bluetooth v5.0, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, NFC, GPS/ A-GPS, and USB Type-C port.
Both devices are the first in the Galaxy A series to support the company's Gear VR headset.
These smartphones will come in four colour variants- Black, Blue, Gold, and Orchid Grey.

All features of the Galaxy A8 (2018) will be kept running with a 3000mAh battery, whereas the Galaxy A8+ (2018) has a more power advantage as it comes with a 3500mAh battery. Both batteries are non-removable Li-ion made.

Release Date & Price
Samsung says the Galaxy A8 (2018) and Galaxy A8+ (2018) will be released in early January 2018. However, a price tag has been announced.

For Europe, the Galaxy A8 is going to hold €499 price tag and the Galaxy A8+ (2018) is going to cost €599. This will be similar to further pricing in other regions.
